TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 18. The amount of venture deals in Uzbekistan amounted to more than $6.3 million in 2023, which is twice as much as in 2022, Trend reports.

As per data of experts from RISE Research KPMG Caucasus and Central Asia, the total volume of venture deals in the region amounted to more than $110 million in 2023.

The majority of deals in Uzbekistan are concentrated in the early stages - pre-seed (22 percent) and seed (51 percent) rounds. There is an expansion in the next stages - 27 percent of deals were in Pre-series A (13.5 percent) and Growth (13. 5 percent) rounds. This dynamic emphasizes Uzbekistan's evolving investment landscape.

When analyzing venture capital deals by investor type, the data shows that international investors accounted for 60 percent of all investments in 2023. Among local investors, government organizations predominate. The average size of venture capital fund deals totaled $204,000 in 2023.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan plans to implement 7,656 projects worth $11.6 billion in 2024 within the framework of Regional Investment Programs.

The share of projects in industry will be 36.6 percent (2,807 projects), in services - 50.1 percent (3,904 projects), in agriculture - 12.3 percent (945 projects).
