Tehran, Iran, June 2
By Milad Fashtami - Trend:
The Leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei warned certain regional countries that sponsor Takfiri groups over the threats posed by terrorist elements.
"Unfortunately some regional states are still aiding Takfiri groups and supporting their atrocities in Syria," Ayatollah Khamenei said on June 2, Iran's official IRNA news agency reported.
"These groups will scourge their supporters in the not-too-distant future and that these very countries will eventually have to eliminate the terrorist groups at a high cost," he added.
"Tehran will support whatever decision the Syrian people will make on their future," he said.
Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in a meeting with Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah in Tehran.
Iran's leader called for further enhancement of cordial ties among regional countries.
"Healthy relations will guarantee the security of the Persian Gulf," he said.
