Baku, Azerbaijan, June 7
By Fatih Karimov - Trend:
Iranian South Pars gas field's phases 22, 23 and 24 were joined to the sixth cross-country gas grid, says Ali Nasihatkon, head of the District #10 of the National Gas Trunkline.
The gas recovered from the three phases can now be injected into the national gas grid, Nasihatkon said, oil ministry's SHANA news agency reported June 7.
The phases 20 and 21 had already been linked to the fourth cross-country grid line, Nasihatkon said, adding in total five phases of South Pars were connected to the national gas trunkline during the last fiscal year (ended March 20).
South Pars is divided into 24 development phases and contains 40 trillion cubic meters of natural gas.
It covers an area of 9,700 square kilometers, 3,700 square kilometers of which are in Iran's territorial waters in the Persian Gulf. The remaining 6,000 square kilometers are situated in Qatar's territorial waters.
