Non-oil exports via borders of Iran's East Azerbaijan province up by 81%

In the first two months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), the exports of non-oil goods via borders of Iran's East Azerbaijan province increased by 81 percent in terms of value, an official with the province's Industry, Mine and Trade Organization Gholamali Rasti said, Trend reports referring to the organization's website.

During the reported period, 381,700 tons of goods were exported for $473 million, Rasti said, adding that the exports increased by 19 percent in terms of weight.

The province's non-oil exports through all of Iranian provinces in total amounted to over 410,000 tons in terms of value, and $490.4 million in terms of value, which is 7.8 percent and 38 percent more compared to the same period of the last Iranian year, respectively.

The province's goods were exported to 77 countries, including Turkey, Iraq, China, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Afghanistan, he said.

Main export goods were metal products ($75 million), agricultural products ($63 million) and petrochemicals ($48 million), he added.
