The second phase of the National Housing Action Plan is expected to start and so far 200,000 individuals have submitted requests for a mortgage to register for affordable housing, said deputy minister of Road and Urban Development.
"There are ongoing inquiries to cover more provinces with this plan and adding new lands or possibly increase the construction capacity," said Mahmoud Mahmoudzadeh, Trend reports citing ILNA.
"The registered houses that their owners missed the payment deadline or withdrew their request would be added to the second phase for new applicants," he said.
"The final decision over the second phase of National Housing Action Plan and its registration conditions would be announced by November 20. It is expected that new regions would be added to the plan and have the priority in registration," he added.
"So far a total of 650,000 individuals have registered for the mortgage to apply for the first and second housing plan, Applicants in the first phase of housing plan should submit their documents before November 20 so the ministry could introduce them to agent banks for mortgage," he noted.
"There is no problem in supplying mortgages and the assigned budget for this plan is $4.7 billion that could cover all 650,000 applicants," Mahmoudzadeh stated.
The first phase of the National Housing Action Plan, which started in August 2019 to provide affordable houses to Iranians, is completed construction of 110,000 affordable housing units across the country including Khorasan Razavi, South Khorasan, Isfahan, Hormozgan and Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari and Kerman provinces in late May 2020.
