Iran continues to assign state-owned enterprises to private sector

TEHRAN, Iran, May 27. Iran is working to assign shares of 187 state-owned enterprises to the private sector in the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2022), said the acting president of Iran Privatization Organization Hossein Amir Rahimi, Trend reports citing Tasnim News Agency.

"Iran's Privatization Organization plan is the maximum assignment of state-owned enterprises' shares and government's assets to the private sector," he said.

He pointed out that the organization has enlisted shares of 2,050 state-owned enterprises for sale in the past 15 years and the remaining shares of 187 companies will be assigned in the current year.

According to the official, the organization aims to reform privatization regulations and create transparency over assignment of state-owned enterprises and investments.
