TEHRAN, Iran, July 18. Iran's fruit export has declined considerably, head of the National Union of Agricultural Products Reza Nourani told Trend.

The exports have declined due to soaring prices and the exporters are having troubles returning export revenues, he said.

Iran is exporting most of its agricultural products to the Persian Gulf and Arabian countries and due to sanctions, the exporters are not able to sell products to European and East Asian countries.

Meanwhile, India has suspended the import of fresh kiwi fruits from Iran due to the rise in pest infested consignments.

Iranian exporters are facing increased transportation costs and lack of insurance has created risks and reduced exports, Nourani underlined.

According to the official, many exporters are returning export revenues via local foreign exchange offices and have to pay extra fees.
