Changes to facilitate the procedure of granting citizenship to Syrian Armenians

Armenia works out changes to facilitate the procedure of issuing visas and granting citizenship to Armenians of Syria.

The head of the task force coordinating the problems of Syrian Armenians at the Ministry of Diaspora, Firdus Zakaryan, said this, Mediamax reports. He said that "people confuse the Syrian Armenians' demands for Armenian citizenship with their desire to immigrate to Armenia, which creates grounds for speculations."

Firdus Zakaryan said that only three out of over 100 Syrian Armenians, who have applied to the Ministry of Diaspora during last months, have asked for refuge. The State Migration Service has satisfied their appeals.
