Georgia, Tbilisi, July 2 / Trend N.Kirtskhalia /

The Georgian government will allocate 1,000 lari ($ 1 = 1.64 lari) to each family, Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili said at a meeting with the public in Tbilisi.

He said this money will be assigned for four years, and each family will be able to use it as it pleases.

"With this money they can pay utility bills, buy medicine, buy fuel in the countryside - all of these they can pay from this amount," he said.

The prime minister stressed that he would walk round Georgia to find out what problems people have and how it's possible to solve them.

"This money will be fall-back option and reserve - where a family doesn't have funds, it will be able to get them from the state," the prime minister said.

He believes that this measure will help to solve some social problems.
