Syrian President Bashar al-Assad issued a decree to publish Syria's new constitution, approved in a weekend referendum, in the official Gazette, the state-run SANA news agency reported on Tuesday.
"The constitution is to be considered effective as of February 27," said the report without elaborating, DPA reported.
Syria said turnout in Sunday's vote reached 57.4 per cent.
