Police in Afghanistan's northern Kunduz province killed a local Taliban commander and injured his guard on Tuesday, provincial police chief Abdul Razaq Yaqubi said, reported Xinhua.
"In the clash, which took place in Qalai Zal district Tuesday afternoon, police killed Mullah Deen Mohammad and injured another, believed to be his bodyguard," Yaqubi told Xinhua.
Taliban militants have yet to make any comment.
Kunduz, a peaceful province bordering Tajikistan since the collapse of Taliban regime in late 2001, has been experiencing Taliban-led militancy over the past several months since the collapse of Taliban regime in late 2001.
