Greek capital struck by bomb attack

A powerful explosion took place in a square near the Greek parliament in central Athens on Saturday evening, police reported without providing information on damage or casualties, dpa reported.

According to the report, police were able to cordon off the area before the explosion due to an anonymous tip.

The authorities speculate that a leftwing radical group was behind the attack.
