The Caucasian Islamic Army's activity is a proof of the validity of the "one nation - two states" principle, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, said Sept. 19.
He made the remarks after a visit to the Turkish Martyrs' Memorial in Baku, TRT Haber TV channel reported.
Davutoglu stressed that Turkey is proud of the heroism of the Caucasian Islamic Army's soldiers, adding that an independent state was formed on the land, on which they perished.
Davutoglu earlier paid tribute to the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, the architect and builder of modern independent Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev and the outstanding scientist and ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva in the Alley of Honor and laid wreaths at their graves.
