Georgia's demand for chemical products from Turkey dropping

The value of chemical products export from Turkey to Georgia decreased by 22.2 percent in the first five months of 2020 compared to the same period of last year, having made up $108 million, Trend reports on June 30 with reference to the Turkish Trade Ministry.

In May of this year, Turkey's export of chemical products to Georgia slipped by 11.5 percent compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to $24 million.

Turkey's export of chemical products to the world markets slid by 17.2 percent from January through May 2020 compared to the same period of last year and stood at $7.2 billion.

Turkey's export of chemical products to world markets amounted to 11.7 percent of the country’s total export from January through May 2020.

According to the ministry, in May 2020, Turkey's export of chemical products to world markets amounted to slightly over $1.1 billion, which is 39.1 percent less compared to the same month of 2019.

Meanwhile, Turkey's export of chemical products made up 11.8 percent of the country’s total export.

During the last 12 months (from May 2019 through May 2020), Turkey's export of chemical products to world markets amounted to $19 billion.
