Turkey discloses trade turnover for March 2021

Turkey's trade turnover amounted to $42.6 billion in March 2021, the Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend on Apr.30.

In the reporting month, Turkey's export increased by 42.2 percent compared to March 2020, exceeding $18.9 billion, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, Turkey's imports rose by 25.6 percent in annual terms, amounting to over $23.6 billion.

From January through March 2021 the country’s trade turnover made up more than $111.2 billion.

In the first 3 months of this year, Turkey’s export value stood at over $49.9 billion, which is 17.2 percent more than in the same period of 2020. Besides, the import value rose by 9.6 percent compared to 2M2020, exceeding $61.2 billion, noted the ministry.

Turkey's trade turnover amounted to $388.9 billion in 2020.

From January through December 2020, Turkey's export decreased by 6.3 percent compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to $169.5 billion. During the period, Turkey's imports increased by 4.3 percent compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to $219.4 billion, added the ministry.
