BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 11. Turkish ports received 5,480 vessels in September this year, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye said, Trend reports.
According to the information, the number of ships received by the ports of Türkiye under the flags of other countries amounted to 3,601, and under the flag of Türkiye- 1,879, during this period.
"Turkish ports have received 45,603 vessels from January through September 2023. A total of 31,060 vessels under the flags of other countries were accepted by Turkish ports, and 14,543 vessels were under the Turkish flag during this period," the ministry said.
According to the ministry, Türkiye's ports received 260.5 million tons of cargo from January through August 2023.
The cargo traffic of Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 19.3 million tons from January through August 2023. And by vessels under the flags of other countries, the cargo traffic to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 241.2 million tons.
Moreover, 46.5 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye from January through August 2023.
