PKK bomb causes train to go off rails in eastern Turkey

( Cihan ) - A goods train was derailed late on Monday after a mine was exploded in the eastern Turkish province of Bingol.

Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorists were reported to have planted a mine on the railway near Suveren station in the Genc district of Bingol. The explosion occurred just as the goods train was passing through.

Seven carriages of the train, which was heading from far eastern city of Tatvan to eastern city of Malatya, were derailed by the explosion. The railway was also damaged in the attack and the traffic on the route halted.

No immediate casualties have been reported so far and the investigation into the case continues.
