An earthquake measuring 4.1 on Richter scale jolted the city of Izeh in the southwestern province of Khuzestan on Friday, IRNA reported.
According to the Tehran University Seismological Center, the tremor hit the city at 18:05 hours local time (14:35 hours GMT).
The epicenter of the tremor was registered 10 kms deep in earth.
No casualties have been reported yet by the earthquake.
However, relief service teams are already in the city to render help if needed.
Izeh is located 185 kms northeast of capital city of Ahvaz.
Based on latest census, it has a population of about 203,000.
