By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend:

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called on Fethullah Gulen [Islamic public figure, currently residing in the U.S.] not to interfere in the country's affairs, Turkish TV channel TRT Haber reported on Feb. 27.

Erdogan said if Gulen wants to be involved in politics, he should do it by democratic means.

He also said if Gulen is sure that he is right then let him leave Pennsylvania [U.S. state, where Gulen currently resides] and come to Turkey.

Earlier, Erdogan accused the U.S. of supporting Gulen and called his movement a "parallel structure".

"The parallel structure makes every effort to implement its evil plans in the country," the PM said.

Erdogan also called on Gulen's supporters to create a party in order to conduct the political struggle in a democratic way.

Previously it was also reported that the council member of Turkish ruling Justice and Development Party, Mazhar Bagli said Gulen's actions and his supporters are aimed at undermining Turkey's national interests.
