Iran did not stop oil export to the EU countries, Mehr agency quotes Iranian Foreign Ministry's head of Western Europe affairs Hasan Tajik as saying.

Earlier the agency reported that Iran cut oil supply only to France and the Netherlands, and issued ultimatum to four countries - Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal - which says that if the long-term agreement is not signed over next two years with Iran, the country will stop oil supplies.

Reuters also reported that Iran's Oil Ministry denied state media reports on the Islamic state stopping its crude exports to six European countries on Wednesday.

"We deny this report ... If such a decision is made, it will be announced by Iran's Supreme National Security Council," a spokesman for the ministry told Reuters.

The EU formally imposed an oil embargo on Iran and agreed to a freeze on the assets of the Iranian Central Bank on January 23, but existing contracts will be honored until July 1.
