European Union Ambassador to Azerbaijan Roland Kobia expressed hope that PACE Rapporteur for Political Prisoners, German MP Christopher Strasser will soon visit Azerbaijan.
"I very much hope that Mr. Shtrasser will be able to visit Azerbaijan very soon," he said adding that the sides may discuss issues that relate to relations between the Council of Europe and Azerbaijan, which is the member of the Council of Europe.
"So, I think that everything should be able to be discussed," Kobia told journalists at a meeting of members of the Caspian-European Integration Business Club (CEIBC) with extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors of the EU and the Caspian-Black Sea region countries in Baku on Wednesday.
Strasser planned to visit Azerbaijan, but later the visit was cancelled.
"I understand that there is some progress on this issue and that there are talks with Azerbaijan to enable work on this issue," he said.
