Afshar Suleimani, Iran Ambassador to Iran, informed journalists that the regional conflicts including the one in Nagorno-Karabakh should be settled with the participation of the countries from the region, otherwise the resolution of these conflicts might be delayed for many years.

The Iranian Ambassador claimed that Iran supports Azerbaijan position in the Armenian-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and advocates for the resolution of the conflict within the international principles. However, according to him, the settlement of such conflicts might be only under the close participation of countries of the region. According to the Iranian diplomat, no country of the region except Russia is the member of OSCE Minsk Group, which, for its part, borders only with one of the conflict party, when Iran, being the closest neighbour of both Azerbaijan and Armenia, has more possibilities to settle the conflict.

The Iranian Ambassador considers that the stability and security in the region might be restored only this way.
