Nagorno-Karabakh is not Part of Armenia – CE Secretary General

In an interview with a correspondent of Armenian A1+ the Council of Europe Secretary General Terry Devis for the next sated his position on the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

"Nagorno-Karabakh is not part of Armenia. I support the territorial integrity of all the member countries Caspian Cooperation, Armenia, as well as Azerbaijan. Georgia may be of Armenian origin but that does not mean to recognize it as part of Armenia," he stated.

I mean the fact is that legally Nagorno-Karabakh is seen as an occupied territory. Legally it is part of Azerbaijan. Nagorno-Karabakh conflicts should be settled urgently through the talks

"I have always promoted the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group. However, I share those opinions which urge that Minsk Group has been long in search of resolution to the problem,' Davis stressed.

With respect to the forthcoming presidential election in Nagorno-Karabakh the SE Secretary General stated that these elections will be recognized anywhere else in Europe except in Armenia.

He added that a lot of people in Armenia as well as in Azerbaijan are very impatient to see the issue settled.
