Azerbaijan, Barda / corr Trend S.Jaliloglu / The Horadiz village of Fizuli District of Azerbaijan is expected to be issued a status of the city, Bahar Muradova, the Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis [Azerbaijan Parliament], said on 27 December after a meeting with the internally displaced people in this region.
The major part of the Fizuli District was occupied by the Armenian Armed Forces in August 1993. After issuing the city status to Horadiz, some projects will be carried out for its development. Muradova said that it is planned to implement a big project on the 'Great Repatriation' of Fizuli residents of the Horadiz, who are temporarily settled in the different regions of Azerbaijan. Under the project the new diagnosis centers, laboratories, production associations will be established, and the gas supply lines will be built.
