Opposition Parties Require Resignation of Government

Azerbaijan, Baku, 18 March /corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi / The Consultation Council, which brings together five opposition parties, requires the resignation of the Government, the Chairman of Azerbaijan Democratic Party, Sardar Jalaloglu, reported to Trend .

On 18 March, the Consultation Council adopted a joint declaration. The document says that the economic situation in the Country has worsened, inflation is continuously increasing and the population is becoming poorer day by day. The Council considers that activities of the Government have brought the State to crash and the Government is unable to change the situation. Therefore, the Consultation Council suggests that the President should dissolve the Government and re-establish the Cabinet of Ministers.

"We consider that the Government should comprise of capable, young and prospective members," Jalaloglu said.

The Five stated that the US Department of State's recent report on the situation with the democracy and human rights in Azerbaijan reflects the reality.

In addition, the Council condemned the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chair countries who voted against the adoption of the UN Resolution on 'Situation in Occupied Territories of Azerbaijan'.

The Council brings together Forum for Azerbaijan, ADP, Taraggi Party, Azerbaijan National Independence Party and Musavat Party.
