Greens Party Officially Nominates its Candidate in Azerbaijani Presidential Elections

Azerbaijan, Baku. 2 August / corr. Trend J.Babayeva / Mais Gulaliyev, the chairman of the Azerbaijani Greens Party, was officially nominated for the presidency at the initiative of Greens Policy group.

Gulaliyev will maximum benefit all forms of propaganda, specified by the legislation, in the pre-elections campaign. "The presidential candidate of the Greens Party will participate in the presidential elections till the end and will not recall his candidature in favor another candidate," Gulaliyev said.

Gulaliyev's pre-elections platform will include the ways of solution to ecological problems and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. "The party developed a document, which describes the ways to solve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and during pre-elections campaign, this document will be submitted to the public. The party supports only peaceable resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," he said.

The Greens Party was established in 2007, but has not been registered at the Justice Ministry yet.

The Supreme Assembly of the Azerbaijani Greens Party decided to participate in the presidential elections with own candidate in April.

The presidential elections will be held in Azerbaijan on 15 October.

So far, the candidatures of Hafiz Hajiyev, the chairman of Muasir Musavat, Igbal Agazade, the chairman of the Umid party, Fuad Aliyev, the chairman of the Azerbaijani Liberal Democratic Party, have been officially nominated.
