N.Kirtskhalia / Regardless of results of the upcoming presidential elections in the United States, Barack Obama, a presidential candidate from the Democratic Party, will be amongst people rendering all kinds of aid to Georgia, David Bakradze , the chairman of the Georgian Parliament, stated at the end of meeting with Obama.
A Georgian delegation participated in a conference of the Democratic Party held in Denver and officially nominated Obama for presidential post of the United States.
"I am sure that regardless of results of the elections in the United States, Georgia has a strong friend as senator Obama, who knows what should do and is prepared to do his best in order to assist Georgia," Bakradze stated.
He stressed that it was a significant meeting for Georgia. "We speak about several kinds of assistance, including political assistance, concrete measures to ensure the world support with the objective not to recognize Abkhazia and South Ossetia and economic aid," Bakradze said.
He said that the Democrats had made a statement with initiative to allocate $1bln to Georgia. "However, it is not all measures and we have projects for Georgia" Bakradze said.
