The NATO Parliamentary Assembly decided to establish a NATO-Georgia parliamentary committee. This became known during Vice Prime Minister Giorgi Baramidze's visit to Norway, where a spring session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the alliance is taking place.

Vice Prime Minister spoke at the meeting of the Assembly Political Committee, which addressed the Georgian-Russian relations and relations between NATO and Georgia.

In his speech Baramidze spoke about the current situation in Georgia, as well as dialogue with the opposition and proposals submitted by the authorities. He also paid attention to the implications of Russia's aggression in the occupied territories and new threats from Russia..

At the end of the speech Baramidze touched upon Georgia's integration into NATO and the EU and the ongoing reforms in the country.

During the consideration of the report on relations between Georgia and Alliance, the majority of NATO countries supported Georgia's position. The support of delegations from UK, USA, France, Portugal and Azerbaijan should be noted, which condemned the occupation of the territories of Georgia and supported the country's integration into NATO.

The report assessed positively Georgia's achievement. In particular, the final part of the report's 33th article noted that "despite the obstacles, Georgia is a leader among the partner countries in reforming the military, civil and economic systems. Georgia needs and deserves the support of NATO and the EU. The Alliance will continue provide the necessary assistance. In spite of the global financial crisis, the Allies contributed financial assistance to Georgia in the amount of several billion euros to revive the country after the war. " It is expected that Baramidze would hold bilateral meetings with Defense Minister of Norway, Chairman of Parliament and Ambassador of Romania to NATO.
