Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the OSCE is a unique chance for the country to demonstrate its viability as a responsible, respected, active and effective member of the international community, the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan released.
"The election of Kazakhstan for the presidency of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in 2010 was the unbiased recognition of high and fair assessment of our country's achievements in socio-economic and socio-political development under the outstanding leadership of President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kazakhstan's major contribution to security not only in the region, but in the world," said the press release.
The President signed a decree establishing the State Commission on the level of heads of central government agencies, chaired by the Secretary of State - Minister of Foreign Affairs. The first meeting of the commission was held on September 9.
"Now the main task is our embassy to find an exact place and take an active part in the successful implementation of Kazakhstan's presidency in the OSCE. This concerns our embassies, particularly in the CIS countries, whose collective candidate we are," said in the press release.
