Kutaisi Mayor Nugzar Shamugia resigned today. He made a formal appeal to Sakrebulo after being criticized by Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili several days ago.
The president expressed dissatisfaction with the mayor due to the city showing too little attention toward large families who live in unbearable conditions.
