Georgian FM hails election of Turkey's representative to post of PACE President

The Georgian Foreign Ministry welcomes election of Turkey's representative to the post of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) president and wished the new chairman success in his activity, which aimed to effectively address the challenges that Europe faces.

The Georgian Foreign Ministry welcomes election of Turkey's representative to the post of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) president and wished the new chairman success in his activity, which aimed to effectively address the challenges that Europe faces.

Yesterday, Chairman of the Turkish delegation to the PACE Movlud Cavusoglu was elected new PACE President. Cavusoglu became the first Turk PACE chairman since Turkey's entry to the Council of Europe in August 1949.

Leader of the Georgian parliamentary majority Petre Tsiskarishvili was elected PACE vice-chairman. He is the head of the Georgian delegation to the PACE.
