Japanese side once again proved its support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity

Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze paid a working visit to Japan March 10-13. During the visit he met with Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Yasutoshi Nishimura March 10, Press Department of the Foreign Ministry told Trend .

Vashadze highly appreciated the assistance provided by Japan to Georgia, and stressed the importance of more intensive development of bilateral economic cooperation.

The meeting discussed the perspectives of deepening of the Georgian-Japanese relations in the sphere of tourism, education and science.

March 11, Grigol Vashadze met with his Japanese counterpart Katsuya Okada. The sides discussed a wide range of Georgian-Japanese relations in both bilateral and multilateral formats, focused on the importance of bilateral political consultations, as well as on deepening cooperation in the sphere of economy and tourism. The meeting mainly discussed the situation in the occupied territories and the measures taken by the Georgian side on the peaceful settlement of the conflict

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the intensive development of bilateral Georgian-Japanese relations. The Japanese side once again proved its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia. Georgian Foreign Minister thanked Japan for its political, economic and financial assistance.

On the same day Georgian Foreign Minister met with former Foreign Minister and MP Hirofumi Nakasone.. Vashadze thanked the Japanese side for the political and economic support and emphasized the importance of further development of economic relations between the two countries. The parties also discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation in energy, transport and agriculture.
