New appointments are expected in the Azerbaijani Citizens and Development Party (CDP), CDP Chairman Ali Aliyev told Trend today.
"Our Political Council met yesterday," he said. "We decided to convene once more on Sept. 5 to discuss elections and new appointments in the party."
Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for Nov. 7. The elections are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies.
Aliyev said the new appointments will be made to strengthen the party's pre-election position.
"In addition, we will adopt a number of decisions related to the bloc," he said.
The CDP and the Azerbaijani Liberal Party announced the creation of a new bloc on Aug. 25.
