Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will open a new customs checkpoint in Sarpi.
An agreement will be signed today which aims to create a simplified border crossing regime for the citizens of both countries.
According to the agreement, as of July 1 Georgian citizens will be able to cross the border with an identity card.
Georgian President Saakashvili and Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan are also scheduled to hold a meeting one-on-one.
