Georgia, Tbilisi, July 5 / Trend N.Kirtzkhalia /

The Georgian police conducted a night search of the Georgian party office based on intelligence information. The police searched for Zurab Giguashvili, the uncle of ex-defense minister and founder of the party Irakli Okruashvili.

Party representatives told Trend that police have not presented a search warrant, but said they are looking for Giguashvili who allegedly fled and may be hiding in the office.

Though police named the search an inspection, they forcedly knocked down the doors. The law enforcement officers left the office when they could not find Giguashvili.

Giguashvili was arrested a few days ago on the border with Armenia and then taken under house arrest. He is suspected in the case of an impending armed invasion.
