Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said at a recent enlarged governmental meeting that there will be an open trial for corruptionists.
The speech was published in all local media on Saturday.
"The law enforcement bodies have recently detained a group of bank employees," he said. "They took bribes from businessmen under the guise of financing the construction of structures."
He said that this fact is under investigation.
"I will not disclose any details of the case," he said. "But when it ends, there will be an open court."
Turkmenistan has recently conducted a series of reforms in monetary policy. The national currency has been denominated since January 1, 2009. The dollar rate was unified.
