Azerbaijan, Baku, July 11 / Trend E. Mehdiyev /
If the so-called "Public Chamber" decides to nominate one candidate in the presidential elections, it will fall apart, Azerbaijani Democratic Party Chairman Sardar Jalaloglu said today.
"The Public Chamber's decision to nominate a single candidate will not become a factor that will significantly impact on the socio-political situation in Azerbaijan," he told Trend today. "It does not worth paying much attention. I think that the Public Chamber will fail to nominate a single candidate."
He said that the Public Chamber will nominate two candidates for these elections.
"We believe that the nomination of one candidate from a broad opposition coalition may lead to more serious political results," he added. "Other variants are the interdependent factors."
Today, the nomination of one candidate in Azerbaijan becomes a problem because the candidates do not have the qualities significantly differing from each other, head of the opposition party said.
The presidential elections will be held in Azerbaijan in 2013.
