Azerbaijan, Baku, September 24 /Trend, T.Jafarov/

The occupation of the part of Azerbaijani territory concerns not only Iran, but also the entire Islamic world, the head of the Iranian delegation, which is on a visit to Azerbaijan, member of the committee on National Security and Foreign Policy of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament) of Iran Javad Jahangirzade told Trend on Tuesday.

"I can confidently say that no nation living currently in this region wants the conflicts, wars and tensions. States should build relations on the basis of international law," Jahangirzade said.

He also said that Iran initially maintained that the OSCE Minsk Group is not strong enough to resolve the conflict. According to him, Iran has the potential to resolve the conflict, and this has been repeatedly emphasized by the country's leadership.

"We hope that the conflict will be settled soon and the IDPs will return to their homeland. Occupation of the part of Muslim state's territory concerns not only Iran, but also to the entire Muslim world," the head of the delegation stressed.

Talking about the role of parliaments in the development of bilateral relations, Jahangirzade said that members of Parliament were elected by the people.

"If we are able create a guarantee for the development of bilateral relations, it can lead to the development of the private sector of both countries," Jahangirzade said.

He also said that the current level of trade relations doesn't satisfy Iran, and these figures should increase.

"Business people and industry experts of Iran should become familiar with Azerbaijan, primarily with their colleagues, and they have to become familiar with Iran's potential. The new government of Iran is interested in expanding the use of the potential of companies and business people working in the private sector. There are prospects for further development of relations between the private sectors of the two countries, " the Iranian MP said.
