Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov will visit Iran today, a diplomatic source told Trend on Monday.
According to the information, Mammadyarov will attend the twenty first meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO), to be held in Tehran on November 26-27.
Mammadyarov is planning to meet with Iran's officials, as well as to discuss the development of bilateral ties.
A meeting of representatives of the member states of the organisation is being held in preparation for the twenty first ECO Ministerial Council meeting in Tehran on November 24-25. A charter of the Analytical Centre which will operate in Baku is being coordinated at the event. Work carried out in transport, trade, energy, environment and agriculture in 2012-2013 is being discussed.
The situation with the implementation of ECO projects, programmes and proposals reflected in the work programme for 2014 are being assessed. The text of the communiqué is being prepared for the Council of Ministers' adoption.
Delegations from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Iran will attend the twenty first ECO Ministerial Council meeting.
