The opening of the Malaysian embassy in Azerbaijan will be a new stage in the development of bilateral relations, Malaysian Prime Minister Mohammad Najib Tun Abdul Razak said during the opening ceremony of the embassy on Sept.12.
"I hope that the relations between Azerbaijan and Malaysia will be long-lasting, fruitful and beneficial for both of the countries," the prime minister said.
Malaysian ambassador Dato' Roslan Bin Tan Sri Abdul Rahman pointed out that although the diplomatic relations between the two countries were established long ago, Malaysia starts its official activities in Azerbaijan today.
The opening ceremony was attended by Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
Following the ceremony, Malaysian prime minister and Azerbaijan's foreign minister got acquainted with the embassy's new building.
