BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 7. Early presidential election will be held in Azerbaijan on February 7, 2024, Trend reports.
The corresponding decree was signed by President Ilham Aliyev.
"Guided by Part I of Article 101 of the Constitution of the Azerbaijan Republic, in accordance with Article 179 of the Electoral Code of the Azerbaijan Republic, I decide:
1. Announce early election of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic.
2. The Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan Republic shall ensure the appointment of early election of the President of Azerbaijan Republic on February 7, 2024 and its holding in the manner established by the Electoral Code of the Azerbaijan Republic,” the decree said.
The previous presidential election in Azerbaijan was held on April 11, 2018.
