AZER MURSALIYEV: CRISIS OF IRAN WITH IAEA TO AFFECT COUNTRIES OF REGION ALSO

The longer the crisis between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on the nuclear program lasts, the acuter it becomes, the more it affects the countries of the region to this or that degree.

Such was the commentary of the head of the “Kommersant” newspaper foreign policy department Azer Mursaliyev for Trend to the response of the official Tehran on the resolution of the Board of Directors of the International Atomic Energy Agency, which contains the call to Iran to stop the operation of the Isfahan plant on the Uranium conversing.

According to Mursaliyev, it will not be easy “to sit and keep silence”. В"In general, it is the matter of time. It means, when the wave will reach this or that country, including Azerbaijan, he added.

The affect will not be immediately literal, but in situation, when Iran plays for aggravation, under this circumstances, any turning up of any American military official will, undoubtedly, will be used by Iran for staging demarche. Any talks of any military cooperation of Azerbaijan with the USA or NATO will also be used for these purposes.

And if we remember the story, when Iran practically forced Azerbaijan to abandon the development of oil fields in the southern part of the Caspian Sea, one cannot but say, it will also affect Azerbaijan”.

The “Kommersant” editor-in-chief supposes, Iran is currently playing for aggravation the situation quite intentionally, namely, according to the principle “ attack is the best defense”.

В"It is well known, these three European countries which held negotiations with Iran during all these three years in reality acted as the lawyers of Iran and its defenders from the American rage. It is also well known, all these three countries have quite actual and quite specific material interests in Iran i.e., they protect their financial and economic interests.

The experience with Iraq shows, after US come to any wealthy in terms of the resources country, former contacts, as a rule, become void.

And from this standpoint the behaviour of the three European countries is quite logical and explicable. However, Tehran decided not to wait passively, like Saddam Husseyn, when everything gets mature and happen, but to stimulate its potential defenders, to force them to make everything clear for themselves in advance”, he said and

noted, Tehran, actually, “urges on the Iranian dossier to be submitted to the UNO Security Council”, where the countries interested in cooperation, would in the long run clarify the matter for themselves and by the necessity, apply the right of veto against passing the anti-Iranian resolution.

В"Then the situation turns absolutely different, i.e., the USA may undertake any large-scale action, having ignored the UNO opinion.

In case minimum half or 2/3 of the Security Council permanent members vote against the American action, implementation of this action, generally speaking, is rather heavy and doubtful”, Mursaliyev added.
