Refusal of the Azdlig block to hold rally in the venue offered by the city authorities and the selection of the other venue for the action by the organization promotes the confrontation situation, deputy executive secretary of the ruling “New Azerbaijan Azerbaijan” Party (NAP), a Milli Mejlis member Bahar Muradova told Trend.
She assessed the opposition’s persistence to hold rally in another city centre venue as the violation of the law. В"Certainly, the law enforcement bodies will avert it within the legal frameworks”.
Muradova noted also, the opposition relies on some international institutions in this matter. В"OSCE holds talks with the authorities on certain issues. The opposition counts on this institution. But they do not understand that Azerbaijan acts in the framework of its laws.
She also noted the Azadlig block is not capable to bring the people out to the square in the number, that NAP gathered. Therefore, their wish to get more spacious area for the action is only stipulation”.
