Independence Day of Slovenia marked in Baku

On 25 June the Independence Day of Slovenia was marked in Baku. In this respect the Azerbaijani-Slovenian Friendship Society organized a roundtable with the participation of Slovenian Consul in Azerbaijan, Boruta Megushar, the chairman of the Society Gennadiy Gvozdev, as well as representatives of the Azerbaijani intelligentsia and public.

Megushar noted that Slovenia gained its independence 15 years ago leaving the composition of the former Yugoslavia. This step was backed up 80% of people of this country. .

Slovenia is one of first countries which recognized the independence of Azerbaijan, the diplomat noted. Both countries have passed identical way of progress and integration into the world community.

The diplomat said that Slovenia was interested in the development of cooperation with Azerbaijan in many spheres, as well as support its in the integration to the European organizations.
