The preparation for 6th plenary sitting of the Parliamentary Initiative Group of South Caucasus to be held in Dubai in December will begin in Brussels in November this year, LINKS Organization Director Denis Sammut told, Trend reports.
It should be mentioned that 5th plenary sitting of the parliamentary Initiative Group was held in London in July 20-24, 2006. During 6th plenary sitting to be held in Dubai, issues on cooperation in the banking, ecological, and transport spheres are expected to be discussed.
Mr. Sammut pointed out that the Council of Europe has also been attracted to the plenary sitting of the Parliamentary Initiative Group. He marked the importance of the cooperation with the Council of Europe in this sphere. Answering the question whether the Parliamentary Initiative Group of South Caucasus could become the parliamentary Assembly in future, he daid that this issue is under consideration now and nobody can answer it properly. This issue is arising as the negotiations are held, he told.
The Parliamentary Initiative Group of South Caucasus was established by the three countries of South Caucasus in May 13, 2003.
