On September 21, the Permanent Commission of Milli Majlis [Azerbaijani Parliament] for Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology held a meeting, Trend reports with reference to the Press Service of Milli Majlis.
The meeting was opened by the Deputy Chairman of Milli Majlis, Chairman of the Commission Valeh Askerov. During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the Bill On confirmation of the Contract On support and creation of conditions between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Kazakhstan for transportation of oil from Kazakhstan to the international market through the territory of Azerbaijan via Caspian Sea and Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan system.
The Chairman of the Commission stressed that the contract was signed on 16 June 2006 with the participation of the Azerbaijani and Kazakh Presidents. He emphasized that one of the key requisites of the project is to create conditions for the oil transportation through Trans-Caspian system, by not affecting the transport route.
The members of the Commission and specialists considered ways to present the document to the Milli Majlis.
