Belarusian President Invited to visit Azerbaijan by Azeri President

The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has invited the Belarus President, Alexander Lukashenka, to visit Azerbaijan officially, the Azerbaijani President advised on October 17 in Minsk during their one-to-one meeting, Trend reports quoting Belta.

Azerbaijan is interested in enhancing development relations with Belarus. Aliyev said that he considers his current visit to Belarus as a significant step to developing bilateral relations. According to the Azerbaijan President, Belarus possesses great potential, economically, industrially and intellectually.

Appealing to his Belarusian colleague, the President of Azerbaijan said You have the full support of the population of the country which allows changes to occur. The Azerbaijani Leader highly assessed the importance of the direction of the social policy in Belarus. It is a perfect approach because we should work and try to create better living conditions for our people, Aliyev underlined.

The Azerbaijan President emphasized that considerable work have already been carried out to develop bilateral relations between Belarus and Azerbaijan: an intergovernmental commission has been created, the Embassies of both countries have been opened in Baku and Minsk, the government heads make mutual visits, and presently the first official visit of the

Azerbaijani President to Belarus is taking place, which will open new prospects for the development of bilateral relations. The President underlined that the signed documents will create a significant legal base for the development of Belarusian-Azerbaijani relations. We consider Belarus as our friend and partner and would like to develop all spectrums of the relations, the Azerbaijani leader said.

In his turn, the Belarusian President positively assessed the growth dynamic of the trade turnover between Belarus and Azerbaijan. Lukashenka said: We look forward to the time when our bilateral relations on trade turnover increases by 85% annually. However, he stressed the need to increase the volume of mutual trade.

Alexander Lukashenka pointed out that Belarus has always had very good relations with the Azerbaijani Leader, particularly Heydar Aliyev. The Belarusian President recalled the Politician as a fighter against law violation, especially corruption. We are very pleased that you have taken after your father, Lukashenka concluded.
