Rene van der Linden, the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, who was visiting Turkey has criticized the Bill on the so-called Armenian genocide. Trend Special Correspondent in Turkey announced that he views the resolution as wrong.
In his talks with the media, Linden stated that the resolution by the Parliament of France was not a good approach with regards to expressing freedom of speech. He voiced his hope that the French Senate would not follow Parliament.
Noting that the resolution has caused tension in mutual relationships with Turkey, he stressed the need for establishing a bridge and reconciliation.
