Program on Sitting of Council of Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS Countries Promulgated

A next meeting of the Council of Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS Member-States, where Heads of Parliamentary Delegations of Member-States of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly is expected to be held in Saint Petersburg on November 16, Trend reports referring to CIS Executive Committee.

Sergey Mironov, Chairman of the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, Chairman of the Russian Senate is expected to open the forthcoming meeting. Discussing organizational issues concerning holding 27th plenary sitting of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and approving Chairs of Its Permanent Commissions, participants of the meeting will discuss the results of work of the Monitoring Groups of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly. Members of the Council are expected to get acquainted with the results of the participation of representatives of the Assembly on observing the by-election to the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan (Parliament) held on May 13, 2006, and presidential elections in Tajikistan held on November 6, 2006.

In addition, participants of the forthcoming meeting will discuss the work plan of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly for 2007 and make necessary alterations and changes to the perspective Plan of Model Lawmaking and Approaching of the National legislation in CIS for 2005-2010.
