State Veterinary Service Refutes Discovery of Bird Flu in Azerbaijan

The State Veterinary Service of the Agriculture Ministry of Azerbaijan considers the information circulated by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources that the deaths of birds in the village of Boyat of the Neftchala district of Azerbaijan as a possible result of bird flu as groundless, Trend reports with reference to the State Veterinary Service.

Bird flu has not been discovered amongst domestic or wild birds in Azerbaijan. The situation in the country is stable, the same source stated.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the recent statement by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Huseyn Bagirov, relating to the situation with bird flu has been distorted by several sources of media.
